Yesterday an impromptu decision came along. I was to go Buffalo Hunting. One text message to Squinty Eyes later it was set. Meet at the truck stop at 1 oclock and have your guns ready AKA eyes! One trip in to get some sausage thingies and a Red Bull and Nos energy drinks we were prepared for our adventure which would lead us back to home base no later then 6 as promised to Squinty Eyes (she had a paper to write) Off we go to the destination of State Line. We had an idea of where to find some buffalo, but like many times in life the road came to a Y and we had to choose a direction. We chose right. It led us past some really cute sheep! and baby sheep! We stopped to take pictures. We drove and drove and finally we got to this dirt path that led us up a huge mountain! With a cliff on one side, and the mountain side on the other we had no opportunity to turn around. As we got deeper an deeper into the well warned "private property" it got more and more scary. We made it to the top where we found a house and we were certain we would be shot (yes Beaner I actually said aloud "I think we might get shot"). One off the mountain we take another road that puts us back into Washington state. Once again we head for Idaho, go to the state line get back to the Y and this time choose to go left. Right over the crest of the hill we find buffalo! Amazed, shocked, and ridiculously happy we take pictures and move on.

Looking for a mate
Next destination, Cabellas. Now why Cabellas you might ask. Long story short, Squinty, B, Fa^1 and I were all in a situation a couple weeks ago where having pepper spray would have eased some worries of ours. I guess a bat sufficed but we still feel like we should carry pepper spray (plus it fits in my purse) Once we get to Cabellas we decide we need to know what kind of noise a buffalo makes, so we can go back out and attract them towards the car for a closer look. Talking to an employee we made friends over mating calls of Buffalo and moose. We move on the gun men, and the gun man shows us how to shoot a gun. We made many friends at cabellas. Including the fudge lady! and some cashiers. And you know I think we talked to just about every employee working at that time. We spent two hours in cabellas doing fashion shows, tasting fine eatery (AKA fudge! Don't get the habanero one...) and hosting fashion shoots for the stuffed animals. But we had business to take care of.
One of the employees sent us to Hauser Lake to look out for Moose. So to Hauser we went, after the zebra coffee stand of course! Oh and a potty trip at McDonald's. We were on our way. Long story short, we got very lost. Again on another dirt road, this time just a tad muddy, but it was definitely prime moose location. Although we never did see any we didn't failing making our calls. With no reception, we had no idea where we were. No satellite signal to get us out of the middle of nowhere. Finally we found a way out, got Vicky up and running and discovered we were a good 2 hours away from home! Just going onto 6:30 we booked it back to Spokane. We made it home safely. But have no doubt, we will be hitting the roads again shortly, on a look out for moose!
Stay Sweet Spokane
